No-show cost calculator for nail salons
A no-show costs a nail salon the full price of the empty slot, because a technician's time cannot be sold twice. Enter your weekly appointments, average ticket and no-show rate to see the monthly and yearly loss, then adjust the reminder and deposit assumptions to see how much you could win back. The calculation runs in your browser.
Your salon
Missed or late-cancelled appointments you could not refill, out of all appointments.

Monthly appointments = weekly appointments × 52 ÷ 12. Loss = monthly appointments × no-show rate × average ticket.
CutieCure Salon sends WhatsApp reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before each appointment, with one-tap confirm or cancel, and push reminders to clients on the free CutieCure Book app. It does not take deposits, so a deposit policy runs through your own payment method.
How to use it
- Enter how many appointments you book in a normal week and your average ticket per appointment.
- Enter your no-show rate: missed appointments and late cancellations you could not refill, divided by all appointments. If you do not track it yet, count them for two weeks.
- Set your own assumptions for how much reminders and a deposit policy would cut that rate. The defaults are a starting point, not a benchmark.
- Use the yearly figure to decide what a reminder routine, a cancellation window or deposits are worth to your salon.
Questions
How do I calculate the cost of no-shows?
Multiply your monthly appointments by your no-show rate to get missed appointments, then multiply by your average ticket. For example, 40 appointments a week is about 173 a month; at 8% that is about 14 missed appointments, or almost 700 a month at a 50 average ticket.
What counts as a no-show?
A client who does not come and does not cancel. Late cancellations you cannot refill cost the same, so count them too. A cancellation made early enough to rebook the slot is not a loss.
Where do the default percentages come from?
They are placeholders so the calculator shows a result straight away, not industry benchmarks. Results vary by city, client base and how reminders are sent. Measure your own rate for a month, try one change, then measure again.
Does CutieCure Salon send reminders or take deposits?
CutieCure Salon sends WhatsApp reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before the appointment, and clients can confirm or cancel with one tap. Clients who use the free CutieCure Book app also get push reminders, and the no-show rate is shown per technician. It does not take deposits or card payments, so a deposit policy runs through your own payment method.
How can I cut no-shows without deposits?
Make every booking explicit, remind clients a day before and a few hours before, make cancelling easy so slots come back early, and block online booking for clients who keep missing appointments. Our guide to reducing no-shows covers each step.
